Dr. Joe

As I adjust back into reality from the Joe Dispenza week long advanced retreat, I want to share my takeaways while it’s fresh in my mind. What a magical experience!! I learned so much and met incredible people from all over the world. Can you believe there were 2100 of us from 85 countries?!

This retreat was something I had been interested in for a few years. So when I met a woman who had been 6 times, I thought, ok I can do this, especially after having done his Progressive Retreat (much shorter version in LA) a few months ago.

I wasn’t sure about doing the retreat in Cancun, but I have to say, I don’t think I’d want it any other way. The fact that I could be in the warmth and beauty of the palm trees, swim in the ocean during breaks and meditate on the beach made it so much more incredible for me.

The week started out great, I was excited to head into the unknown. The information was so interesting and Dr. Joe is very charismatic, humorous and relatable in his presentation.

So much of his teachings are about being ok in the unknown, therefore much of the schedule was not disclosed until the night before.. which I found challenging at first and then I surrendered and let go.

I was definitely not prepared for the long meditations 3 times per day, which I found quite difficult at first. I will say that with practice, I inevitably got better and that by the end of the week my body was craving more.

I did have a moment mid week where I thought about leaving. I was feeling uncomfortable about the feelings that were coming up and a little lonely as well.. I hadn’t really met my people yet. So I sat with the feeling and was reminded that resistance can be a good sign to go deeper. And whoa, was it ever! That’s when I really let go and let myself feel the things I was resisting. I’m so glad I stayed with it because once I pushed through, that’s when the magic happened. I let myself cry and released a lot of things i’d been holding onto, that’s when my heart opened even more, I had a really moving experience in my meditation, and I met more people that I felt a connection with. In fact, one of my favorite parts was meeting amazing people from all over the world!

Here are my big takeaways from this retreat:

  • Where you place your attention is where you put your energy.. so make sure you focus on the things you love and desire to have in your life.. and not on what’s not working.
  • We create from a place of gratitude and joy. When we are in judgement and impatience we lose it.. we cannot attract from lack.
  • We create the most in the unknown.. so get out of the known and change up the routine.. do it differently and see what happens. When we do the same, we get the same.
  • When we take our attention off of everything material, everything known.. it’s in that emptiness that we get beyond ourselves.. and that is the door to the quantum field.
  • The heart is the creative center of the body… if we give our heart energy we change
  • The body can believe it’s living in a good environment if we train it to by opening our hearts more and live from more love.
  • Let go of our past stories and start telling the story of our future reality instead. By holding onto them we stay in the past.. believe in your new story and fall in love with your future self and you condition your body to the state.
  • Meditation, meditation, meditation! When we get ourselves into a relaxed state we open the door from the conscious to the subconscious mind.. this is where we create from.
  • Wake up everyday and think greater than how you feel.
  • Free the betrayers of our lives.. through forgiveness. And thank them, we needed them to get here and now it’s up to us. Forgiveness is when you feel so good about yourself that it doesn’t matter. That’s when you take your power back. Trade resentment for gratitude and joy.
  • Become conscious of our unconscious behaviors so that we no longer bring them into our future.
  • The sweet spot is the present moment. Live and love from this present moment.
  • Stress deregulates our bodies and the arousal from the stress is addictive, subconsciously. This alters our genes and that is what makes us sick. If our thoughts can make us sick they can also heal us and make us well.
  • In surrendering to nothing we have everything .. in the void is where we create.
  • Learn to feel with the heart. The more love we feel the more the heart opens and signals our brain to healing.
  • The stronger the emotion you feel in the decision to make the change.. the more you change.
  • Go past where you’d normally stop in everything you do.. this signals the brain to change.
  • Get out of victimization and use it for change and healing instead.
  • It’s not about the manifestation.. it’s all about you changing.
  • Keep choosing yourself over and over.
  • Feeling elevated emotions throughout the day improves our internal health and changes our chemistry.
  • We can regulate our hormones when we change our brain chemistry.
  • Infinite creative energy exists in our resting non vibratory state. All the potential is in that void.
  • Our bodies are own internal pharmacies when we learn how to connect within. We can even remove toxins with the breathwork he teaches.
  • We heal ourselves through healing others with our open hearts and our energy. Oneness.. we are all connected.
  • You can actually get to the equivalent of a psilocybin experience through meditation, trance and breathwork!
  • Fall in love with whatever you’re creating. Our hearts are our magnets.
  • And as we raise our frequency, through meditation, breathwork, and staying in gratitude, joy and love, while feeling the feelings of what we desire as if it’s already happening. We heal our bodies and our minds and create the future we love.

 And so much more!

Feel free to reach out for more details.

I decided not to get into all the scientific information we learned about how this all works in our body. This is a summary to let you know that change is actually possible, by you for you, when you do the work. And there is more scientific evidence to back it up and you can read Dr. Joe’s books for that.

I definitely had major moments of releasing things I’d been holding onto for too long. Of connecting on a whole other dimension. Of past hurts I didn’t even realize were still there coming for healing, It’s not easy work, but when you let yourself feel it and move through it it takes you to a whole other level that I feel grateful to have found. More will be revealed.

With love and light,
